Overton’s data featured in new report: Investigating the effects of open sharing commitments during Covid-19

A new report, entitled ‘From intent to impact: Investigating the effects of open sharing commitments’, jointly published by the Wellcome Trust, Gates Foundation and UKRI has made use of Overton’s policy document data to support their analysis.

The report is a review of how “rapid and open” sharing commitments from funders and research organisations helped to inform the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with recommendations for other organisations who may wish to develop statements as a policy tool.

A team of researchers at Sciencemetrix made use of Overton’s data to assess citations of journal publications and pre-prints in policy documents.
